The Collective Voice – Collective Opinions Against Diversity

My brief searched for a solution to problems related to diversity within the most diverse area of London - Welsh Harp, in Brent (which is known as being the most diverse borough in the UK). My concept entails the fact that the 'individual voice' is less 'recognised' than the 'collective voice'. So by turning the 'individual voice' into a collective one diversity in Brent may be less problematic.

  • Visual of design - showing the differential hierarchy of spaces (between the 5 individual voice spaces and collective voice spaces).
  • 1:200 longitudinal section through design - difference in form according to which 'diverse category' the space falls into.
  • 1:200 ground floor plan - showing the transition from land to hanging forms of space - and how these forms interconnect with one another to create alternate routes off of the original dam.
  • 1:20 construction section (cut through a connecting bridge, the first floor and second floor/mezzanine gallery - presenting a conclusion to the journey from individual voice to collective voice.
