Blue Veins

Blue Veins refers to the colourist 20th century Blue Vein test which established a skin tone hierarchy. To this day, dark skin is deemed inferior and is ubiquitously degraded. This series acts as a refreshing representation for dark-skinned back females which diverges from the clichéd urban environments, often linked to negative notions of crime and poverty, that we are so accustomed to.
