George Holmes – Year 3 Architecture Project

A project that's main objectives is to provide a space to teach steelwork skills from raw materials to finished products by the older generations to the younger generations and try to bridge the disconnect within my chosen area. Responds to an area that is considered 'left behind' after the shutting down of it's main economic driver in a major steelworks plant.

  • My project responded to the shutting down of a steelworks in an area, one of the problems coming out of this was a lack of skilled jobs available.
  • Initial Layout for my design on site.
  • Basic Architectural Programme for my site.
  • Final 3D render of the full site, my development and some surrounding context.
