The rationale for this project was to depict two of the main characters of the book (Pine and Roper) each of them reaching for the bell, however as the novel goes Roper takes pine under his lead for the illegal arms trade, the cover shows this by Ropers hand being the larger and darker shadow while Pines is the smaller hand, this can be seen as Roper taking dominance against Pine.
