SEW OVER IT! Final Graduate Collection

SEW OVER IT! My final graduate collection visualizes the anxious thoughts I face when sewing and pattern cutting. These fears had started to become ‘monsters in my head’ which to take control of I creatively illustrated, combining my fears into garments, generating canvases to hold my illustrations and prints. The muse is the fabulous Grayson Perry. A visual exploration of refacing fear.

  • A model posing in pink and yellow garments, image surround is illustrations of the garment designs. Look 2(left) DRAMATIC of which I illustrated and painted white denim fabric to create. Look 3 (right) CATASTROPHIZE.

  • The mood board of my collection re facing my fear of the 'sewing machine of doom'.
  • Illustrated and colourful final line up and print placement generated for my collection, the silhouette is oversized and trapeze in shape, offering chilldhood protection against fears and worries.

I have a passion for print design and this is an element of fashion I would like to explore further in the future. I enjoy fashion illustration and creating narratives through colorful clothes.
